Elliott Richardson » Strength and Conditioning Coach/Owner Acadia Performance Training Inc.

Elliott is a graduate of Acadia University and excelled on and off the field as a Free Safety for the Varsity Football team. Off the field he was an 2 time Academic All-Canadian as a graduate of Kinesiology. On the field he was a 2 time 2nd Team CIS All-Canadian, 3 time AUS All Star, AUS Rookie of the Year and Acadia Defensive Player of the Year and Team MVP and was a Team Captain for over 2 years. He credits Strength and Conditioning as the driving factor of his success on and off the field. This combined with his ability to outwork his opponents and peers allowed him the opportunity to make the team as an un-drafted free agent in the Canadian Football League with the Edmonton Eskimos and eventually starting 24 games over 2 years. He now fully dedicates his time and energy to improve his athletes athletic abilities and teach them the value of hard work and dedication.

Josh Crouse » Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach

Josh is entering his 3rd year as Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach for Acadia Performance Training. An Acadia graduate and former Strength & Conditioning intern, Josh is responsible for the oversight of all athletes who run through Acadia Performance Trainings doors as well as Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic Satellite athletes.Josh also handles all Strength & Conditioning and Sports Science needs for Acadia Basketball, Swimming, X Country, and Women’s Volleyball where he also serves as an Assistant Coach.

As a certified exercise physiologist, Josh provides personal training and lifestyle coaching for those individuals suffering from a range of chronic diseases and disabilities. A former Varsity athlete and multi-sport provincial level athlete, Josh’s hope is to give his athletes and clients the opportunity and guidance that he didn’t have as an athlete.

 

Rachelle Aucoin » Strength and Conditioning Coach

Rachelle is a bilingual (French & English) student entering her 4th year of Kinesiology. She’s originally from Cape Breton but lived in Wolfville the last 3 years to work and train as she plays on the Women's Soccer team for Acadia. This will be her second summer working for APT, as well as starting her Honours Thesis this summer, researching high-performance mouthguard use in varsity athletes.

Joy Chiekwe » Strength and Conditioning Coach

Born and raised in Cole Harbour, NS, Joy is a recent graduate from Acadia's Kinesiology program, a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer and a CSEP- Certified Exercise Physiologist Candidate. She came to Acadia playing on the women's basketball team before finding her love for exercise science and  strength & conditioning. Joy has been with APT for 4 years and is excited to continue to coach and learn.

Jacob Creedon » Assistant Student Strength and Conditioning Coach

Jacob is a 4th year kine student going into his 5th year of study. He has been playing football for the varsity team at Acadia since he started at the school. He was invited to the CFL regional combine in March of 2017. He is currently certified as a Canadian Society Exercise Physiology Personal Trainer (CSEP-CPT) while trying to achieve his Certified Exercise Physiologist through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CEP). After graduating from Acadia he plans on continuing his education by entering nursing school and continuing to train athletes.

Courtney Dill » Strength and Conditioning Coach

Courtney Dill was born in Souris, PEI. She graduated with a bachelor in kinesiology in May of 2018. She has experienced a variety of different sport worlds while coaching as well as participating in Powerlifting, Rugby, Hockey and more. Courtney is also a Certified Personal Trainer.

 

Cassidy Klein » Assistant Student Strength and Conditioning Coach

Cassidy Klein is going into her 3rd year of kinesiology at Acadia. She has been interning with Elliott and APT since her first year at Acadia. This past year Cassidy worked with the Varsity Football Team and APT as an intern. In the next year she hopes to become a Certified Personal Trainer. In her 3rd and 4th year, she will also be working as a student therapist for a varsity team on campus. Cassidy grew up in Coldbrook, Nova Scotia and is an Olympic weightlifter. Recently, she placed 3rd in the country at the Canadian Junior Weightlifting Championships.

Emily Elliott » Assistant Student Strength and Conditioning Coach

Emily Elliott is from Pictou County, Nova Scotia. She is a 20 year old student going into her 3rd year of Kinesiology at Acadia. After gaining experience working with Acadia Performance Training this year, she is excited to continue coaching as an intern this summer. She also plans to pursue a career in health care in the future.

 

Travis Feltz » Assistant Student Strength and Conditioning Coach

Travis Feltz is Acadia Performance Trainings newest addition. Travis has been weight training for 5 years, and has spent the last 4 years competing in powerlifting. Travis is currently completing his Bachelor in Strength and Conditioning here at Acadia. He played football in high school, and his main coaching experience consists of coaching Highschool students consisting of multiple sports in weightlifting and strength training.

 

Duncan Mckie » Assistant Student Strength and Conditioning Coach

Duncan Mckie is an intern here at Acadia Performance Training. The Coldbrook native has trained with APT for 6 years now. Duncan has spent the last four years playing junior hockey for the Valley Wildcats, Miramichi Timberwolves, and the Yarmouth Mariners. In his final season with the Mariners Duncan was awarded the “C” to captain his team and eventually lead them to a birth in the MHL final after winning their division. He also had the chance to play in the QMJHL with the Charlottetown Islanders and the Rimouski Oceanic. Duncan also made an appearance at the 2013 Telus Cup when he was just 15.
